In photography class everyone is always fighting over who gets to use the digital cameras first, and I'm just making a grab for the old film cameras.

Hello,

I'm a second year photography student looking to collaborate with as many people as I can for a project that will include the swapping of negatives/ images and double exposure printing/ layering photos in Photoshop. The images are to based on 'daily routine' and can be anything you feel suitable. Communication back and forth will be very important.

The project will be really fun and hopefully create some amazing work!!

Email me if you're interested at melissajayne_@live.co.uk

Thanks for your time,
Melissa

How do you get your film developed? Do you go to a camera shop / drugstore or do you do it yourself?

I have a film camera, but I'm not quite sure how to use it. Can you direct me anywhere for advice?

Well, they're not that different from the modern digital cameras but a good place to start would be Camerapedia - it has a lot of info and materials. Personally I got interested in film photography by reading an old John Hedgecoe book (from the 70's or 80's I think), so I would ask from your local library if they had any older copies of those with film stuff - but even the newer ones are awesome books as is.

Don't know what else to say, really. Trial & error is my way, though not very economical, it is a fun way of doing things. But yeah, I sincerely think the library is the best way to go here. Hope I was at least of some assistance.

Thanks!! Awesome...I really wanted to try it, and then we found a really nice camera with film and a case a yardsale, and everyone keeps telling me to save the film, (which makes no sense). Anyway, this may sound like a stupid question, but when I take the used/undeveloped film out, should I do it in a dark place?

Well either you have a camera with a motor that automatically winds the film back in the casing, or you have a lever to wind it back manually - like this random image shows: [link] (there's usually a button underneath for unlocking that you have to press while winding the lever). Just remember: DO NOT OPEN THE CASE UNLESS THE FILM IS BACK IN THE CASING! You would have to be in a pitch black place to not affect the film and have to somehow manually wind the film back inside. So just use the mechanisms the camera might provide.

Googling stuff like "wind film back" should help.

Look or put an ad on Craiglist. I'm sure you can get one for a song. All you need is ventilation and plumbing (drainage and a source)

Ihan hieno, mutta animaation... :ohnoes: loop? ei ole... :ohnoes: infinitive, joten se töksähtää aina lopussa.

Our acts tell others who we are, They define us, our character, and our identity. The reactions of others to our act redefine us. For we read the feedback and adjust. Therefor none of us are individuals, but rather a fleet of ships only following where the winds blow.

Jaa. Mutta eikö sitä voisi tehdä niin, että liikkuva muotojuttu loppuu siihen tilaan, mistä se alkaa?
